Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak: Travel Update 2020

 


General Information for International Passengers

Passport information and Passenger Contact Details are mandatory while making bookings.

Guidelines for International Passengers Arriving in India as per MOHFW

– All international arriving passengers travelling to India must submit an online Self-Reporting form through https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration to declare their consent for self-paid institutional quarantine.

 – Passengers arriving in India and seeking exemption from institutional must submit an Exemption Form through https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration at least 72 hours prior departure.

– Exemption categories: Expectant mothers, Passengers with kids under 10 years, Passengers with serious illness, Passenger with death in the family, Passengers with negative COVID-19 PCR certificate issued within 96 hr of the departure

Air India Express is operating special repatriation/air bubble flights between Gulf to India & South-East Asia to India.

Subject to the criteria and eligibility criteria laid down by destination country, travel is also permitted from India to some of these countries and passengers can book their flights through our website or through their travel agents.

Passengers will be travelling at their own risk and are required to read the terms and conditions of travel carefully before making a reservation. Criteria for travel should also be checked by referring to the conditions on the respective countries regulatory website.

Air India Express will not be responsible if a passenger is denied entry into the destination country and they will have to bear the cost of penalty/deportation if any. Quarantine charges at the time of arrival at the destination will have to be borne by the passenger. Passenger must ensure that they comply with all travel and health requirements of the destination country.

At the time of boarding the flight, passengers will have to undergo thermal screening as per health protocol. Only asymptomatic travellers would be allowed to board the flight.

For safe travel of passengers in relation to COVID-19, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, India is now permitting passengers to carry 350 ml liquid sanitizer in the cabin baggage for travel within India and for outbound flights from India up to 12th November 2020. Carriage of other liquid items/gel/paste or items of similar consistency is restricted to 100 ml.

While making a booking on these flights passenger accepts the terms and conditions associated with the travel on these flights. Air India Express has no liability for the same.

India

As per the notification received on 31st August, 2020, from DGCA, India, all scheduled international commercial passenger services stand suspended till 23:59 IST of 30th  September 2020. This restrictions does not apply to repatriation/air bubble flights specifically approved by DGCA.

Tamil Nadu

1. For all passengers travelling from International destinations to Tamil Nadu, a valid Negative COVID – 19 PCR test, not more than 96 hours before departure is required. The 96-hour time frame for accepting the COVID-19 PCR test starts from the date of sample/ swab collection.For passengers arriving India in Vande Bharat Mission flights till 14th September 2020, COVID–19 PCR test can be conducted on arrival.

United Arab Emirates

 Sultanate of Oman

As per the latest notification received from Sultanate of Oman, along with Omani Nationals, Non-Omanis are allowed to enter Oman only after:
• Obtaining MOFA’s (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) approval prior to travel via embassy or sponsor.
• Employment Visa holders must obtain NOC from Passport & Residency Department (ROP), in case their stay outside Oman exceeds 180 days.
• Get an ‘Okay to Board’ status in the booking prior to the travel.

The following documents are required to update Okay to Board:
1) Passport copy (Front Page and valid Visa Page)
2) In case of fresh Visa, copy of Visa
3) Copy of MOFA approval / NOC from ROP
4) Booking details with Ticket Number

All passengers must download and start the registration process on the Tarassud+ application before arrival as well as pay an amount of OMR 5 to obtain a tracking bracelet to wear during quarantine.

*Omani Nationals will be subjected to 14 days domestic quarantine.
*Non-Omanis will be subjected to 14 days institutional quarantine.

All visitors are required to have health insurance valid for the full duration of their stay in Oman.

State of Qatar

Doha to India

Any Indian National who has registered on the website of the Embassy of India, Doha and fulfills the required entry conditions and desires to be repatriated by Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) flights from Qatar to India, can now book their tickets and purchase prepaid excess baggage by visiting our website www.airindiaexpress.in or through our authorized Travel Agents for travel effective 01st August 2020.

 India to Doha

Passenger Category Permitted to travel to Qatar from India:
1. Qatari Nationals, their spouses, their children, their Husbands, and companions under their sponsorship arriving with them on the same flights.
2. Passengers Holding Permanent Residency.
3. Residents arriving in Doha holding the Exceptional Return Permit.

4. Visitors with personal visit visa issued by Ministry of Interior

Effective 21st August, Returning Resident Permit holders of Qatar and visitors with personal visit visa issued by Ministry of Interior can travel only after obtaining an Exceptional Entry Permit to Return from Qatar Government Portal, the link provided below: https://portal.www.gov.qa/wps/portal/qsports/services/servicetDetail/exceptionalentrypermittoqatarservice

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 

Presently Air India Express does not operate Vande Bharat Mission flights to Saudi Arabia

Kingdom of Bahrain

The Kingdom of Bahrain has currently suspended carriage of passengers from India to Bahrain till further notice.

Malaysia

Effective 07th September 2020, only certain category of Indian Nationals are permitted to enter Malaysia:

i). Diplomats who are under Exemption Order and their dependent;

ii). New Diplomat and staff at Foreign Missions in Malaysia (including UN Laisser Passer (UNLP) holders with Entry Approval Letter from the Director General of Immigration Malaysia (DGIM);

iii). Seafarers entering Malaysia for “sign-on” or “joint ship”. Letter of Guarantee (LG) and Seaman Book are required for entry;

iv). Pilot and Flight Attendance of commercial or private jet who are coming as a crew or passenger with General Declaration for the next flight; &

v). Crews and professional workers in oil and gas industry who are holding valid Long Term Pass with Entry Approval Letter from the Director General of Immigration Malaysia (DGIM).

vi). Medical Travelers (1 patient & 1 companion) with Entry Approval Letter from Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) and tested negative COVID-19  3 days prior departure.

Transit Passengers

Transit Passengers will be permitted to travel ONLY:

– Transit time is WITHIN 48 hours
– Hand Baggage weighing 7 kgs and fits into the overhead bins. Check-in baggage will not be allowed.
– Confirmed onward ticket and permission for entry into destination is mandatory.
– Transit without leaving the Transit Hall.
– Passengers must book and stay at Sama-Sama Express Hotel, KLIA located at Satellite Building at KLIA near C5 gate for Transit above 24 hours.

*Transit passengers are required to check the Government Website of the destination country for the latest updates on transit procedure.

Passengers Travelling to Hong Kong effective 10th August MUST have:
• A valid Negative Nucleic Acid Test for COVID-19, within 72 hours (from sample time) before the scheduled time of departure from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong.
• The report can be hard/ soft copy and must be in English/ Chinese and must have the passenger name as per travel document/ passport.
• If the report is in a different language or the relevant details mentioned by Hong Kong Authorities are not present, a new document in English/ Chinese must be issued by laboratory/ healthcare institution bearing the all mandatory details.
• Additional documentary proof (hard/ soft copy) in English/ Chinese to show that the laboratory/ healthcare institution is ISO 15189 accredited or is recognised/ approved by the relevant authority of the government of the place in which the laboratory or healthcare institution is located.
• Confirmation of room reservation in a hotel in Hong Kong for not less than 14 days starting on the date of arrival in the name of passenger in English/ Chinese.

Singapore

 Indian nationals belonging to certain category / status are permitted to enter Singapore. Details of such categories are available on the link https://www.ica.gov.sg/covid-19

Effective 17 September 2020, for all passengers with recent travel history to India within the last 14 days, a valid Negative COVID-19 PCR Test is required within 72 hours before departure. The 72-hour time frame for accepting the COVID-19 PCR test starts from the date of sample/ swab collection.

This is in addition to the current 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) at dedicated SHN facilities and a negative COVID-19 test before the end of the SHN.

*Transfer / Transit passengers are NOT accepted
